ZIG-ZAG

GROUNDING REACTANCE FOR SINGLE-PHASE FAULT PROTECTION.

Our Zig-Zag transformers protect 3-wire generation systems against ground faults, providing a ground connection point to detect faults that have occurred in the system, protecting generation equipment and receiving substations, making the system much safer. generation-transmission and reception operation.

PROTECTED SYSTEMS IN WIND AND SOLAR FARMS

Features

  • Designed to withstand 200 kV of NBAI according to standards, they withstand 70 kV at 60 Hz. For one minute and 7200 cycles at 400 Hz, at 200% of its nominal voltage.
  • Capable of operating at a maximum ambient temperature of 50°C.
  • When a damage occurs in the system, the temperature increase will be minimal and almost imperceptible by the measuring instruments (liquid and winding thermometer).
  • Use of mineral dielectric oil: excellent dielectric and heat dissipation properties, giving it effective cooling and insulation.
  • It is also cooled with steel fins that help cool the tank naturally.

Reactance in operation with temperature of the upper part (generally where the temperature is higher) below that specified on the data plate (65°), guaranteeing a longer useful life for the components of the equipment.

PROTECTED SYSTEMS IN WIND AND SOLAR FARMS

  • Ease of being permanently connected to the electrical system without causing major losses to the circuit.
  • They only use the magnetizing current, so the no-load losses are the only ones needed for their operation.
  • Withstands the short-circuit efforts of the system to ground in the time specified on the data plate.
  • Provides a grounded neutral: At the moment of fault it acts by passing the zero sequence current through the neutral, flowing through the windings.
  • Phase to ground fault protection – Relay 50/51-N.
  • High impedance under normal operating conditions.
  • Zigzag bushings with nominal voltage of 46 kV: They withstand overvoltages and overcurrents caused by the effects of system failure and the operation of the grounding reactance.
